Description

God’s glory is one of the major themes of the Scriptures.  This image recounts a number of instances where the Word of God proclaims and portrays the glory of God.  During the Israelite Exodus from Egypt, God let the people in the desert as a majestic, awe-inspiring pillar of fire by night and a pillar of cloud by day.  Psalm 97 says that the mountains melt like wax in the presence of our glorious Lord.  In Psalm 18, God shows His power and might by routing His enemies with arrows and flashes of lightning.  When Ezekiel was given a vision of heaven, he told the reader that the radiance of the glory of God was like rainbows within clouds.  When Isaiah was also given a view of the glory of God, he wrote that the train of His robe filled the temple with glory.  Finally, Jesus was exalted above all others because He laid down His life and suffered for the salvation of God’s people.
