Description
We see Jesus’ hands lifted up, holding and blessing a loaf of bread. This is the moment of the miraculous multiplication of five loaves of barley bread and two small fish. From that small gift, a crowd of five thousand men (and women and children as well, we are told) ate their fill. And not only did they eat all they wanted, but the leftovers filled twelve baskets–one for each of Jesus’ inner circle of disciples.
See Matthew 14:13-21, Mark 6:31-44, Luke 9:12-17, and John 6:1-14 for the whole story.
