This image contains the main elements of the birth of Christ. The story begins with Joseph and Mary, who was great with child, traveling to the little town of Bethlehem. On the night that her baby, Jesus, was born, shepherds’ fear turned to exultation as angels in glorious light told them of the news that a Savior had been born. They went into the town to find the baby Jesus lying in a manger, as the angels had proclaimed to them. We are also told that wise men from the east followed a new star to Judea to find the One who was born king of the Jews. They came to Him and presented gifts of great worth, a fitting tribute to the One who would save mankind from their sins. The adoration that was given the Christ-child back then is still found in people’s hearts today as we remember His birth.
