“Moses” contains images from the life of the great leader of Israelites, chosen by God to free His people from bondage in Egypt. The painting has scenes from his infancy, when was placed inside a papyrus basket in the Nile River to save his life, to his time of leadership over the Israelites, when he received the 10 Commandments from God on top of trembling, stormy, quaking Mt. Sinai. Also included in “Moses” are the burning bush, the parting of the Red Sea, and the bronze snake that, when looked upon, healed the people of their snake bites when they were wandering in the desert.
