Daniel

Daniel was a man of faithful prayer; he would not stop lifting up his requests and praises to God even after a royal decree forbidding such prayers was established as law.  He had to serve the punishment for breaking this law, which required that he be thrown into a den of lions.  When Daniel was thrown into the den, an angel of God shut the mouths of lions so that they did not hurt him.  Daniel’s story is one of the great examples of the Lord guarding His servants in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.
