One of the most well-known and often-appropriated stories of the Bible is that of Noah. Many people forget the seriousness of the story: that man was so wicked in the sight of God that He purposed to destroy the whole of mankind. This image shows various aspects of the story of Noah, from the building of the ark, to various animals that boarded the ark, to the start of the torrential rains that covered the earth. "Noah" also depicts the dove and the olive leaf that it brought to Noah when the flood had ended, as well as God's promise to never destroy the earth again by water, as represented by the rainbow.

See the book of Genesis, chapters 6-8.
